José Enrique, also known as "The Nose," was arrested after his participation in brawls in bars and restaurants was identified through public and private recordings. There is an ongoing investigation into his possible involvement in a brawl that occurred on June 27 at a venue inside a shopping mall in Metepec.

According to the State Attorney General's Office of Mexico, "The Nose" is under investigation for his involvement in cases of disappearance, homicide, and assaults against alleged members of rival criminal cells. One of the incidents he is implicated in took place on September 10 at "Galerías Toluca."

During the event at the mall, he directed himself against "Chava Díaz," who switched from the Michoacan Family to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, resulting in one person being shot and later detained. Additionally, Jessica Itzel was arrested, allegedly involved in extorting businesses.

José Enrique, 37, was arrested by elements of the Secretary of National Defense and other authorities following a successful operation in Lerma on October 24. He was taken to the Santiaguito Social Reintegration Penitentiary Center in Almoloya de Juárez.

Moreover, an arrest warrant was issued against him for his possible involvement in a triple homicide in Tenango del Valle in November 2023. "The Nose" has been described as an operator of criminal activities in the Toluca Valley, particularly related to extortion and illegal logging.

The detention of several individuals linked to illicit activities in the region in recent years has weakened criminal structures. The Attorney General's Office has carried out joint actions with state and federal authorities to combat crime in the mentioned area.
