Mayors are seeking to be included in the 2025 Budget. With debts to Monterrey of over 170 million pesos, a combined fund of up to 800 million pesos is being assembled from metropolitan and peripheral municipalities. This amount will be included in the new fiscal package proposal presented by the opposition in Congress. «We have already been in communication with the State Congress through the Municipal Treasury; the State owes the Monterrey Municipality approximately 170 million pesos in various pending payments,» stated Adrián de la Garza at a press conference. Metropolitan mayors from the PRI-PAN and Morena parties have submitted alleged debts from the State Government regarding participations, some dating back to 2022, when the political war in the state began, and subsequent years. The administrations of Escobedo and García add up to nearly 500 million pesos in alleged arrears, and they have also filed recurrent complaints about having to use municipal resources to carry out state-level projects. Among those who will join this request are the mayor of San Nicolás, Daniel Carrillo; David de la Peña of Santiago; the mayor of Apodaca, César Garza; the municipal president of Sabinas Hidalgo, Daniel González, among others. Mayors from the Citizen Movement party, such as Héctor García of Guadalupe and Félix Arratia of Juárez, did not join the front against the MC. «It systematically affects not only the administrative and financial side of the municipality, but also citizen services. Many of these resources were meant to finish parks, reconstruct streets, and in areas such as women's support, security, and other sectors where projects were left incomplete,» he added. Mayors from the 4T movement have also joined this request.
