Luisa María Alcalde Luján, the national leader of Morena, held a press conference with local party figures, distancing the party from Citizen's Movement (MC), criticizing Governor Samuel García, and opening budget negotiations with the PRI and PAN parties.
Alongside local deputies, Alcalde Luján stated they can collaborate on the Fiscal Package if: the budget includes a pension for people with disabilities; there is 0% debt and taxes; public image spending, travel, and the office of Governor Samuel García are cut by 50%; municipal resources that are owed are paid; and the public transport tariff hike is reversed.
"We are opening the possibility for other political forces to take up these five points," she said. "We need 28 legislators, we have 9 from Morena and 2 allies. If the governor and MC want to join us in this budget, then by all means," she added.
Sources slipped to LPO that these conditions were imposed by the party's national president during a digital meeting. "The problem is that he uses the resources of the people of Nuevo León to promote himself. He has the right to register like anyone else who wants to participate, to reverse the fare hike, not for personal publicity... in contrast to this, he demands more taxes, wants more debt, wants everyone to chip in while there is no commitment for Nuevo León," said Alcalde.
"What matters is the people's budget," said the Morena leader. "We trust our nine deputies, they are committed to the movement... we want to foster unity, what we are proposing is not new... we hope there will be sensitivity, there will be reason, that the people will be prioritized... it's not about whether the governor wants to or not, there is a separation of powers, this is the budget that will be exercised in 2026," she added.
Finally, Luisa María highlighted Samuel García's intention to run for president, however, she asked him not to use public funds for his promotional travels. "When these times will be held, it is not yet defined, I hope that soon there will be a council where the internal processes are approved," she added.
The president also held a private meeting with all party actors, including councilors and senators, prior to the press conference. In various Morena groups, this complex scenario is seen, however, Alcalde Luján wants to make her dissociation from MC clear for the upcoming electoral process, a situation that continues to weigh on internal polls. Among a group of legislators, there are still doubts regarding negotiations with the PRI-PAN bloc.
The national leader of Morena, Luisa María Alcalde Luján, attacked the governor, stating that if Morena's conditions are met, spending on publicity, her executive office, and travel could be reduced by up to 1,546 million pesos. "Last year we gave him the benefit of the doubt, he presented a Budget, it contemplated 10,000 million in debt. A year has passed, the metro lines before the World Cup are not there, and the drainage problem in the state is not resolved. Where is that resource?" she asked. "Our decision will be by survey, it will be the people who will choose the candidate for Nuevo León." "If the parliamentary groups of PRI or PAN want to accompany these proposals, then by all means," she added. She also spoke about the aspirants in Morena and anticipated that it is valid.
They consider that if there is no agreement with MC, there should not be one with the opposition either, and to push for a scenario of dispute between PRI-PAN and MC, making them responsible for the non-existence of a Budget Package. Furthermore, in case of a Morena-Front alliance, they believe it would be in vain, this in the face of a possible disagreement from the governor by not publishing the Budget approved by the legislature and getting into a legal entanglement against the Palace of Cantera in which they do not want to get involved.
Meanwhile, Alcalde Lujan went on the offensive against the governor, ensuring that if Morena's conditions are met, it would reduce up to 1,546 million pesos in publicity, her executive office and travels. "Our movement is valid to raise our hand, we have excellent profiles, we have the support of the people and we are going to win in 2027." "Samuel is in his right to participate in 2030, that is not a problem," said the cherry-colored leader.
