The IFE Conference 2025 has begun with the theme "Driving the Future of Education with Innovation and Technologies" in the city of Monterrey. The event, which will run until January 30, offers over 250 activities dedicated to learning, collaboration, and innovation.
In the inaugural conference "Artificial Intelligence in Education: Expectation vs Reality", Michael J. L. Fung and Paulo Blikstein from the Institute for the Future of Education at Tecnológico de Monterrey addressed the role of Artificial Intelligence in education. They emphasized that while AI has the potential to transform education by offering personalized learning and administrative efficiency, it is important to manage realistic expectations regarding its implementation.
The experts pointed out that while AI can enhance the learning experience through adaptive platforms, its impact depends on factors such as infrastructure, teacher training, and ethical considerations. In this regard, they highlighted the importance of a balanced and evidence-based approach to ensure that the implementation of AI supports educators, empowers students, and promotes equity in access to education.
The president of Tecnológico de Monterrey, Juan Pablo Murra Lascuráin, emphasized the relevance of the event in a global context of accelerated changes and uncertainty and highlighted the importance of generating valuable content and discussing ideas to address the current challenges in education.
