Mexican Senator Accuses Opposition of Orchestrating Protest

The senator claimed that protesters, identifying themselves as 'independent citizens', are in fact political hitmen. He accused opposition party leaders, particularly from PRI and PAN, of orchestrating the demonstration to divert attention from a scandal involving the mayor of Monterrey and the prosecutor. 'They claim to be free citizens with no ties to PRIAN, yet they greet Paco Cienfuegos and Adrián de la Garza,' the senator shared. 'I thought they were smarter when they sent people to protest... These citizens come asking me about the impeachment of Samuel García, while the main newspaper in the city is linking the mayor and Prosecutor Javier Flores to a scandal.' The senator also noted that one of the protesters has a past with PAN and challenged the movement's leaders, Raúl Gracia, Seferino Salgado, and Víctor Pérez, calling them 'sellouts who work for the highest bidder.'
