Celebrating 30 Years of Avanzada Regia

Members of different local bands from the Avanzada Regia movement were recognized by the Congress of Nuevo León on the 30th anniversary of its inception. Among the recognized bands are El Gran Silencio, Zurdok, Jumbo, as well as Juan Ramón Palacios and broadcaster Zoraida Rodríguez. The recognition was promoted by panist deputy Claudia Caballero, who highlighted the importance of this musical movement in strengthening Mexican rock on a global level.

Tony Hernández from El Gran Silencio expressed: "Now looking back, with gray hair and a bit heavier, we believe we have achieved something interesting, and our dreams are coming true. It is very important to be recognized. Not only for us and our ego but for those coming after us." Hernández recalled the difficulties of the time they started, marked by the lack of the internet and the challenges of getting their music known. "Making our own flyers, drawing the covers of our albums, our cassettes, being a company making our own gigs," he noted.

Deputy Caballero emphasized that this movement transcended borders, with bands like Control Machete, Cabrito Vudú, Panda, Plastilina Mosh, Kinky, among others, bringing their music to different parts of the world. She highlighted the role of values such as loyalty, hard work, resilience, and the talent of the Monterrey musicians in the success of these groups.

The tribute to these bands was a recognition of their cultural legacy and the impact of their music in various parts of the world, reaching countries like France, Belgium, Russia, China, Germany, Spain, South Africa, and America. Members of bands like Genitallica, La Flor Del Lingo, Jumbo, Zurdok, El Gran Silencio, Club Calavera, and Kinky were present at the tribute, receiving this recognition with pride and gratitude.

Tony Hernández summarized the feeling of everyone by stating that despite the decades that have passed, they still feel the same desire to keep rocking. "Everything started 30 years ago, with friends making music. Now looking back, with gray hair and a bit heavier, we believe we have achieved something interesting, and our dreams are coming true," Hernández emphasized.
