UANLeer 2025 Book Fair to Feature 219 Events

The UANLeerFeria University Book Fair 2025 will take place from March 12 to 16, with the University of Houston as the special guest in the invited institution category. A total of 219 events have been scheduled, including book presentations, conferences, readings, tributes, awards, and film screenings.

José Javier Villarreal, Secretary of Extension and Culture of UANL, emphasized that this edition seeks to offer comprehensive training to the 220,000 students of the university, providing them access to cultural expressions and unique aesthetic experiences in such a noble space as the university.

In this sense, Villarreal mentioned that the university has played a fundamental role in the "literary boom" currently taking place in northern Mexico, enriching Mexican literatures that are enjoyed today. This time, the invited university is Houston, and the invited publisher is Arte Público Press.

Among the highlighted activities is the Poetic Gala in the Aula Magna, where renowned poets and writers such as Alessio Brandolini, Marco Antonio Campos, Emilio Coco, Aurora Luque, and Yolanda Pantin will participate. The International Poetry Meeting "The Gold of the Tigers" will also take place in the Juan Manuel Elizondo Auditorium, featuring local, national, and international authors.

Additionally, authors such as Martín Solares, Fabio Morábito, Julián Herbert, and Maritza M. Buendía will participate. All scheduled activities will be free of charge for attendees, thus promoting cultural life in the Monterrey society.
