The governor of Nuevo León denied rumors that the city of Monterrey would lose its status as a host for the World Cup. He confirmed that BBVA Stadium will host four games of the sporting event and that FIFA has not mentioned the possibility of changing the venue due to pollution. He emphasized that the topics discussed are security and logistics, and that the venue will not be moved elsewhere.

Meanwhile, the Tourism Secretary of Nuevo León updated the Nuevo León Passport with an interactive map and translations in more than 25 languages, as part of efforts to modernize the visitor experience. Tourism Secretary Maricarmen Martínez highlighted the tourism strategy of the state of Nuevo León in view of the 2026 World Cup, aiming to position the region as a leading destination in northern Mexico.

Martínez underscored the importance of the Magical Towns and sustainable tourism in diversifying the tourism offering and strengthening the local economy. She participated in the Travel and Adventure Festival 2025, an event that gathered over 150 exhibitors from different states and is expected to receive around 9,000 visitors, establishing itself as a reference in the tourism promotion of Mexico.
