Traffic on Avenida Morones Prieto, one of the busiest traffic arteries in Monterrey, will reopen until 2:00 PM this Saturday, according to the city government. Repairs are being carried out on a stormwater drainage located a few meters from the Cuauhtémoc Bridge. The Monterrey government explained that the restriction for a few more hours is due to additional work being done to ensure greater safety in the affected area.

Originally, the traffic was scheduled to reopen at 6:00 AM this Saturday, but due to the extra work, it will extend until 2:00 PM. During this time, the regular lanes of this route will remain closed, so the only options for circulation will be the side roads and express lanes.

On the other hand, the Traffic and Transportation Directorate of Monterrey has implemented a reversible lane on the National Highway to improve mobility in the southern area of the city. This measure aims to expedite vehicle traffic during peak hours, specifically from north to south. The reversible lane was operational from the Villa las Fuentes neighborhood to the La Rioja sector, allowing for smoother traffic for those heading to the National Highway.

Traffic and Road Safety personnel remained on-site to supervise the operation and ensure the safety of both motorists and pedestrians. The municipal authority calls on drivers to respect the traffic signs and follow the instructions of traffic agents.

The reversible lane was opened at 9:30 AM on Friday and will remain operational until 2:00 PM, adjusting according to traffic flow. If necessary, this reversible lane would be implemented in the afternoon from south to north, from La Rioja to the Canoas Park. These actions are part of the 2025 Holy Week operation of the municipality of Monterrey.
