Governor Samuel García announced the start of operations for the Garza Sada-National Highway Transmetro Route. This route, which will have 20 units that are 100% electric, will benefit more than 22 thousand students from UANL Mederos Campus, as well as other users in the southern area of Monterrey.
The new Transmetro line, which will operate in two circuits - Garza Sada-Mederos and Mederos-El Uro, will run from 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM. The route will include points such as Garza Sada Avenue, Lázaro Cárdenas Avenue, and the National Highway, aiming to improve mobility in the southern part of the city.
Hernán Villarreal, Secretary of Mobility and Urban Planning, highlighted the importance of these non-polluting and air-conditioned units, which aim to provide better service to users, especially university students. The state government is focused on supporting efficient and sustainable mobility in the region, with the goal of connecting different lines of the System and reaching El Uro.
The governor, accompanied by local authorities, boarded one of the Transmetro units to travel the route from Mederos Campus to Macroplaza. The project also includes the expansion of Metro lines 4 and 6, with the installation of piles and beams for their prompt operation.
