The governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, and the head of 'Amar a Nuevo León', Mariana Rodríguez Cantú, handed over the third mural of the FIFA Corridor of the 'Worldly Strokes' program this Thursday. The mural, titled 'Childhood Dream', is located on the Viaduct of Av. Constitution. 'If you go straight on Constitution, you will see the new columns of lines 6 and 4 also painted by muralists,' said the governor. He noted that in addition to Constitution, there will be murals on Line 1 of the Metro and in 17 municipalities of the state. The project involves 44 artists, four of whom are international, four are national, and the rest are local. 'The complete project will be 78 murals, we are talking about almost 11,000 square meters that will be painted throughout the state. Of these 78 murals, 11 are what we call monumental murals, like the one you just saw,' he detailed. The 'Miguel de la Madrid' mural at the height of the Maternal and Child Hospital is the work of the renowned local urban artist Adrián 'Asero' Rodríguez. 'What will you see in these 70 days? A lot of cleaning, a lot of trees, we have planted a million trees, many murals, for example, as you enter the city, we have this under-bridge that my buddy you designed a great project, it's beautiful,' added the governor. 'You will see completely painted, paved, renovated, Miguel Alemán, Constitution, Morones Prieto, Lázaro Cárdenas, Venustiano Carranza, the Tunnel, the new Airport, the new Customs, all the roads safe, clean, of course Colombia free and we will be like this without stopping, no vacations, nothing, just pulling for 70 days, to have the best World Cup, the best venue. This is the new Nuevo León, we are ready and now it will be a beautiful, tree-filled, painted, paved city, ready to be the best venue,' he added. The head of Culture in Nuevo León, Melissa Segura Guerrero, presented the progress report of this inter-institutional program that started on March 1st. 'These are very large murals, in this case, for example, this one measures 1,191 square meters and has 31 columns. It will be the largest mural corridor we will have,' she said. She emphasized that the project connects emblematic points from the Guadalupe Caseta to the Obispado, involving 18 institutions and the municipality of Guadalupe to strengthen the urban identity of the state.
