Increase in Juvenile Violence in Nuevo León

The number of minors involved in violence has increased in Nuevo León, where three arrests of adolescents in possession of drugs and weapons took place on Tuesday. Additionally, it was reported last Sunday that a 14-year-old boy was found with packets of a substance presumably crystal, later revealed to be responsible for at least 18 robberies at convenience stores.

As part of actions to prevent crime, the Metropolitan Coordination Group arrested a 17-year-old adolescent in the municipality of Escobedo. During a patrol in the Barrio Durango neighborhood, Civil Force police observed a young man carrying an object wrapped in a blanket and when he attempted to flee, he dropped a long gun magazine. After approaching him, a loaded long gun, a magazine with cartridges, and a cell phone were found in his possession, so he was taken before the relevant authorities.

On the other hand, in the Tijerina neighborhood in Monterrey, two 17-year-old youths were arrested by Civil Force. During a deployment in search of illicit activities, the officers intervened in a fight between the adolescents and upon checking their belongings seized 66 doses of a substance similar to crystal, two digital scales, and a cell phone. The detainees were placed under the custody of the authorities for the appropriate follow-up of their case.
