Nuevo León Launches Quality Model in Health

The Government of Nuevo León has launched a new 'Quality Model in Health', ensuring safety and patient-centered care. This agreement aims to improve healthcare services in Monterrey, integrating the participation of various institutions.

The agreement signed by “José Eleuterio González”, TecSalud, Universidad de Monterrey, Consejo Nuevo León, Clúster de la Salud, and the Secretary of Tourism aims to guarantee the quality of medical care in the state.

The Nuevo León Health Quality Model focuses on key areas such as patient safety, equity, timeliness, effectiveness, sustainability, efficiency, and person-centered care. This model was developed with the participation of quality experts from the state Health Secretariat, private hospitals, and the social sector.

The Health Secretariat of the Government of Nuevo León launched this model as a strategy to evaluate and distinguish medical care establishments in the state. The goal is to ensure patient safety, act with clinical effectiveness and operational efficiency, and provide humane care reflected in processes such as the "Butterfly Code".

At the signing of the commitment for health quality in Nuevo León, the rector of UANL, Santos Guzmán López, expressed that this model incorporates fundamental principles to ensure the protection and care of patients through a humanistic health culture. He highlighted the importance of patient safety and person-centered care to build a health system that reflects values of empathy, professionalism, and humane care.

For their part, government and private health agencies such as Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, Amar a Nuevo León, the Health Secretariat, the Faculty of Medicine, and Hospital Universitario “Dr. Issues that we will promote from our higher education institutions as essential values for the development of a humanized health culture,” said Guzmán López.

In addition, he expressed that this model places Nuevo León at the forefront in promoting an integral and quality health system, committing universities to continue training professionals aware of their role as health promoters. Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León commits to contributing knowledge, innovation, and dedication from its academic and health community in this process.
