Los Atarantados: The Taquería Born During the Pandemic

Jorge Guadiana shared in an interview that during a year of pandemic, they dedicated themselves to working on the creation of a taquería. He always had the idea of having a business of this type, as his specialty in the kitchen is tacos. During confinement, they developed the entire concept, from the design of the menu to the architecture and image of the place.

In the process, they focused on the details to differentiate themselves and stand out in a competitive market. Jorge explained that a restaurant is not just about serving food, but about offering a complete experience that includes music, design, and brand communication. Jorge Guadiana is a chef from Monterrey with studies in Gastronomy and Business Administration.

Before founding Los Atarantados, Jorge worked in several places in the United States and Europe to gain experience and cultural knowledge in the gastronomic sector. Subsequently, he joined La Romería in northern Mexico and then decided to launch his taquería alongside his partners Sergio Cantú and Patricio Bernardini. Additionally, he works at the restaurant Bárbaro in Monterrey.

Los Atarantados is known for its creative and varied tacos, which include options such as arrachera, lamb, carne asada, suadero, and more. The menu also offers other options such as cachetadas, snacks, and desserts. Prices for dishes range from 65 to 200 pesos, depending on the chosen preparation.

The taquería Los Atarantados opened its doors in 2020 and recently arrived in Mexico City. Its branch in Roma Norte has attracted the attention of celebrities like Katy Perry and Formula 1 drivers. Although the taquería has gained popularity in the capital, its origin dates back to Monterrey, where Jorge Guadiana began his culinary journey.
