Minors and Foreigners Arrested in Monterrey Crime Spree

In Monterrey, a 14-year-old boy was apprehended with drugs and linked to 18 robberies, while a Guatemalan national was arrested for causing a fire. Police action is part of a safety initiative.


A minor aged 14, identified as Kaleth Issay, was detained by officers of the Monterrey Police in the Mitras Centro neighborhood. During a routine patrol, the police observed Kaleth, who attempted to flee upon noticing their presence. After a brief chase, they found in his possession 15 plastic bags containing a solid substance similar to crystal meth. Furthermore, he is being investigated for his alleged involvement in 18 robberies of businesses in the western area of the city.

According to information from C4, the minor is believed to be implicated in violent robberies of convenience stores, using a knife to threaten employees and demand money from the cash registers. Kaleth's detention is part of the Shield program implemented by the municipal administration to ensure citizen safety and reduce crime. After his arrest, he was taken to the Monterrey Police facilities and made available to the juvenile justice system.

In another incident, a 29-year-old man of Guatemalan origin, identified as Alex Armando D., was detained for causing a small fire by burning cable on a pedestrian bridge in the Garza Nieto neighborhood. Monterrey Police agents were alerted by C4 about Alex Armando's suspicious activity, and he was captured while still holding the burning cable.

The individual was arrested and taken to the Monterrey Police facilities to be handed over to the Public Ministry and answer for his actions. This police intervention is part of the municipal Shield program aimed at strengthening public safety and combating crime in the city, providing a safer environment for the residents.
