New 'Super Delegate' of Security in Monterrey

Omar Amador Escobar Figueroa has been appointed as the new 'super delegate' of Security in Nuevo León, as part of the Swarm Operation. Escobar Figueroa, with a degree in Law from the University of Development of Puebla, has prior experience as a regional delegate of the Federal Ministerial Police in Michoacán and regional commissioner in the State of Mexico.

His arrival is expected to reinforce security in Nuevo León and contribute to restoring order in the region. As an expert in justice and security, he will be responsible for investigating and deploying operations to combat illicit activities and reduce the number of crimes, especially the increase in intentional homicides that has been recorded in the last few weeks in the metropolitan area, with nearly 20 people executed.

The lack of coordination between the State Government and the Attorney General's Office has been pointed out as one of the obstacles to combating violence in Nuevo León. Escobar Figueroa's arrival has been well received by Miguel Ángel Flores, coordinator of the Citizen Movement bench in the State Congress, who supports the Federal Government's decision to send the new security commissioner.

Escobar Figueroa has already held meetings with the Secretary of Security and the head of the Justice Attorney's Office of Nuevo León. It is expected that, with 50 agents under his command and operating from Monterrey, he will be able to focus on resolving conflicts between the State Government and the PRI deputies to avoid interfering with crime-fighting efforts. Flores emphasized the importance of avoiding the politicization of security actions and highlighted the key work of the Civil Force for the preservation of safety in Nuevo León.
