Three joint operations north of the Monterrey metropolitan area led to the detention of 10 people, the seizure of six vehicles, and 12 weapons. The first operation took place in San Agustín, a municipality of Los Herreras, following intelligence alerts indicating the presence of armed individuals. This triggered Operation Muralla, during which, after a confrontation, a pick-up truck, four long guns, and tactical gear were secured.
Subsequently, in an extension of the operation activated in all municipalities of the Valley of the Salinas, armed individuals were detected on the highway to Monclova, in the municipality of Hidalgo. After a pursuit, one person was arrested and a vehicle and two long guns were seized. Finally, the aggressor group was located in the Monte Real neighborhood, municipality of Escobedo, and arrests were made with the activation of the Metropolitan Coordination Group.
As a result of this joint operation, four adult men, two adult women, two minor boys, and one minor girl were detained, totaling nine people. Also seized were two SUVs, six long guns, three short guns, 47 long gun magazines, five ballistic vests, tactical gear, and cannabis wrappers.
Operation Muralla, coordinated among various state and federal authorities, aims to prevent the entry of armed groups generating violence into the entity. On the other hand, the Metropolitan Coordination Group, which includes state and federal prosecutors, works to detect, arrest, and prosecute those generating violence in the Monterrey metropolitan area.
