Governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, has officially announced his candidacy for the 2030 presidential elections. He is the first political figure to publicly declare his intentions for the race. "With security, protection, energy, and talent, we have the diversity for these data centers to arrive, generate profits, and succeed," he added. García will serve as governor until 2027 and then plans to compete for a federal position. In an interview with Bloomberg, he confirmed that he sees himself as a future president. The governor stated that Nuevo León is the "backbone" between the United States and Mexico City. He also highlighted the one-billion-dollar investment from Nvidia to build a data center in the state. "I'm going for it all," he said, describing his next political steps.
