
Gathered in the Government Palace, the coordinators of the different factions in the Congress of Nuevo León held a meeting with Governor Samuel García to address various topics, especially focused on closing the year efficiently for the municipalities. Perla Villarreal, coordinator of the PRD, mentioned that urgent matters for the municipalities were discussed, highlighting that the year-end closure is a serious problem for them.
During the meeting, Heriberto Treviño Cantú of the PRI and Carlos de la Fuente of the National Action Party acknowledged that there had been grievances in the past and expressed the need to work together despite the differences in budgetary matters. Carlos de la Fuente mentioned that "With a single meeting, a 'clean slate' cannot be achieved," but both political leaders agreed to move forward and work for the benefits of Nuevo León.
Lorena de la Garza, president of the Board of Directors of Congress, pointed out that difficult topics were addressed with the state executive, emphasizing the political persecution that some of those present had experienced in the past. Additionally, the urgent need for the budget for mayors was discussed, being a priority for the municipalities.
Anylú Bendición Hernández, coordinator of the Morena Legislative Group, described the meeting as the end of the Mcprian coalition (Citizen Movement, PRI, and PAN), highlighting a change of stage in the political relationship. It was emphasized the openness to dialogue from Governor García, who committed to making the 2025 Budget one of the priorities and to work together with the deputies on this aspect.
In summary, the meeting was described as cordial and productive, laying the groundwork for a new approach to collaboration between the executive and legislative branches for the benefit of Nuevo León. The coordinators agreed to continue with working tables and address outstanding issues in order to advance in the resolution of problems affecting the region.
