Adrián Marcelo Sanctioned for Political Violence

The influencer Adrián Marcelo Moreno Olvera was sanctioned by the Electoral Tribunal of Nuevo León for exercising political and gender violence against Mariana Rodríguez, wife of Governor Samuel García. The tribunal determined that during an interview with the Mayor of Monterrey, Adrián de la Garza, Marcelo made derogatory comments that perpetuate micromachisms, according to the issued ruling.

Mariana Rodríguez filed the complaint in early September, alleging that De la Garza had hired Adrián Marcelo to attack her during the campaign for the mayoralty of Monterrey. In the resolution, the Tribunal classified Marcelo's comments as "lewd" and "grotesque," highlighting their potential harm to the public perception of women's capabilities.

Despite the phrases being made in a journalistic context, a public reprimand was imposed on Adrián Marcelo. Regarding the restorative measures ordered, their details have not been specified in the resolution.

For his part, upon learning of the Tribunal's decision, Adrián Marcelo responded through his social media account, limiting himself to asking "How much is it?" As for the other accused, including Adrián de la Garza, Rafael Eduardo Ramos de la Garza, and the Coalition Force and Heart for Nuevo León, made up of PRI, PAN, and PRD, the Tribunal concluded that there was not enough evidence to support their guilt in the dissemination of the interview.
