The Government of Tamaulipas, led by Américo Villarreal, has approved the construction of 15 Safe Stations on the border between Tamaulipas and Nuevo León. Sergio Hernando Chávez García, the security secretary of the neighboring state, shared this information. These stations will be located along the northern border with the aim of improving conditions for trade and reducing long lines at the FGR checkpoints.
Chávez García mentioned that the Safe Stations will also strengthen the presence of federal forces at strategic points such as the International Bridge Solidaridad-Colombia in Nuevo León and in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between Tamaulipas, Nuevo León, and Coahuila to maintain security in the region and effectively combat organized crime.
During the Second Northeast Regional Public Security Meeting, held in Monterrey, these issues were discussed among governors Samuel García (Nuevo León), Manolo Jiménez (Coahuila), and Américo Villarreal (Tamaulipas). The construction of the Safe Stations is part of Governor Villarreal's efforts in the fight against criminal groups, with positive results to date.
Chávez García mentioned that during the current administration, weapons, drugs have been seized, and clandestine workshops dedicated to the artisanal manufacturing of armored vehicles have been dismantled. Additionally, people in migration conditions have been rescued, vehicles have been recovered, and various confiscations have been carried out. The Public Security Secretariat of Tamaulipas continues to work to meet the security needs in the region and promote trade and tourism exchanges with Nuevo León and Coahuila.
