Sergio Ramos Shines in Monterrey Debut

Sergio Ramos made a successful debut with Monterrey, leading his team to a 3-1 victory over San Luis. His performance highlighted the eighth round of the Mexican Clausura football.


In the eighth round of the Clausura of Mexican football, several figures stood out. The debut of Sergio Ramos with Monterrey's Rayados, the consistent performance of leader León with James Rodríguez and Diber Cambindo as the top scorer were the highlights.

In his first appearance, Ramos, about to turn 39 years old, showed his relevance on the field. In 79 minutes, the defender shot five times, recovered balls, and led the defense in the 3-1 victory over San Luis. With two goals from Germán Berterame and one from Oliver Torres, Ramos positively influenced the performance of his teammates.

On the other hand, León, with James Rodríguez, maintained its unbeaten streak by beating Tigres UANL 1-0, with a goal from Stiven Mendoza. The team defended solidly and accumulated seven victories in the season, standing out in first place with 23 points.

In other matches, the champion América defeated Pumas UNAM 2-0, while Necaxa, coached by Nicolás Larcamón, won 3-1 against Mazatlán with a brilliant performance from Cambindo, who extended his lead as the top scorer.

Toluca, led by the Portuguese Paulinho, thrashed Juárez 4-0, climbing to sixth place in the table. Meanwhile, Puebla defeated Tijuana 2-0, Guadalajara beat Pachuca 2-1, Santos Laguna surpassed Atlas 2-0, and Cruz Azul won 1-0 against Querétaro, rising to fourth place.

The ninth round will continue with six matches, including Tigres UANL-Juárez FC, Mazatlán-Monterrey, Tijuana-Pumas UNAM, Pachuca-Puebla, Toluca-Querétaro, and San Luis-Guadalajara. The competition promises excitement and changing results in the future.
