Unfortunately, violence once again made its presence felt in the stadiums of Mexican football during the match between Rayados de Monterrey and Santos Laguna. Despite Monterrey's 4-2 victory, fans of La Adicción were involved in a fight in the stands of Estadio BBVA.
In a video circulating on social media, several supporters of La Pandilla can be seen starting a discussion and then escalating to blows. One individual is even shown attempting to hit another with a flagpole.
Security personnel intervened minutes later to detain one person, although another video later surfaced showing a supporter being attacked apparently by security staff. This incident has generated outrage among fans and led some to demand sanctions against the club and the stadium.
Although neither the club nor Liga MX has issued statements regarding this matter, according to the regulations of Mexican football, fans identified through the FAN ID could be banned for life from the stadiums. It is important to note that such conflicts are not new at Estadio BBVA, and it is concerning that incidents of violence among fans continue to happen despite the celebration of the local team's victory.
