The Spanish defender Sergio Ramos, recently arrived at Rayados, will not travel with the team to face Vancouver Whitecaps in the Concachampions. Despite having played two matches and scored one goal, it was decided along with the coaching staff to prioritize his physical conditioning.
According to reports, the decision was made so that Ramos can regain his best physical condition after a period of inactivity since his departure from Sevilla. Martín Demichelis, a member of the coaching staff, mentioned that they are happy with how the player is doing and that they will decide the next steps together.
Instead of traveling to Canada, Ramos will remain in Monterrey doing regenerative work and continuing his physical preparation. He is expected to return to Mexico City next Thursday to rejoin the team and face upcoming commitments.
It was emphasized that Ramos' absence in the match against Vancouver Whitecaps is not due to injuries or adaptation issues, as his performance has been positive. Both the player and the coaching staff are aware that there is still room for improvement and are looking for him to return in optimal condition for future matches.
