Rayados secure quarterfinals despite Ramos' absence

The fans of Rayados have been filled with excitement as they advance to the quarter-finals of Liga MX after emerging victorious from the Play-In. Despite this happiness, the team faces a significant loss: their captain, Sergio Ramos, will not be able to participate in the upcoming matches due to physical issues.

"Sergio Ramos is a key player for us; his absence will be felt," commented Martín Demichelis, the team’s coach. Ramos' last match with Rayados was during the Clausura 2025 Tournament against León, where he had to be substituted due to muscle complications.

Although Ramos's recovery is in its final phase, it is unlikely that he will be able to participate in the first match of the knockout stage against Toluca. However, there is hope that he could be in the starting eleven for the return leg, which would be a great help for the team.

The clash between Monterrey and Toluca, which promises to be one of the most exciting of the quarter-finals, will take place on Wednesday, May 7, at the Gigante de Acero at 7:00 PM. The series conclusion will be on Saturday, May 10, at Nemesio Diez Stadium, at the same time.

This knockout stage is crucial, as having the first place in the overall standings at stake, the result could have a significant impact on the development of the next phase of the tournament.
