Violence Paralyzes Activities in Michoacán

In Michoacán, specifically in the municipalities of Pátzcuaro and Erongarícuaro, violence has led to extreme measures by local authorities. Due to recent violent events, the suspension of classes and business activities in the area has been announced. Mayor Liliana Campos de la Luz issued a message asking residents to take shelter until the competent authorities can ensure their safety, involving the Secretary of Public Security, the National Guard, and the Mexican Army.

Amid this wave of violence, it has been reported that recent events may be related to the release of a criminal leader nicknamed 'El Chuy', belonging to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). This individual was released by order of a federal judge, triggering a series of incidents in Michoacán.

The violent events that have occurred include shootings, vehicle burnings, and armed confrontations in various parts of the state. From shootouts on the Occidente highway, where a National Guard officer was injured, to the burning of cars on the Pátzcuaro-Erongarícuaro and Sevina-Pichátaro highways, the situation has generated fear among the population and a climate of insecurity in the region.

Despite local authorities' efforts to contain the violence, incidents continue, leaving the community on high alert and awaiting measures that can ensure their safety and peace.
