The security cabinet led by Secretary Omar García Harfuch announced this Thursday the arrest of César Alejandro 'N', better known as 'El Botox', a criminal leader from Michoacán who is accused of being the mastermind behind the murder of regional lime grower leader Bernardo Bravo. This crime shook the state government led by the Morena member Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, which also faced a security crisis due to the murder of Uruapan mayor Carlos Manzo, just a few days after this crime. In his record, César Alejandro 'N' has seven arrest warrants for crimes such as homicide, four for aggravated extortion, and one more for attempted homicide. The action of the Secretariat of Security is framed within the Michoacán for Peace Plan, recently launched by President Claudia Sheinbaum following the murders of Bernardo Bravo and Carlos Manzo, which put the Morena governor against the ropes due to citizen demands for greater security. Likewise, it was reported that the capture of the criminal leader, which occurred in the town of Santa Ana Amatlán, was made by a female police officer, who pursued him while he attempted to escape. All of this comes at a time when the White House demands greater security measures and a more frontal and stronger fight against organized crime and its civilian, political, and economic tentacles. Additionally, it was reported that three other people from the same criminal group were also arrested. The arrest of 'El Botox' means a considerable blow to the criminal structures of Michoacán, which in recent years have extended their illicit activities to agricultural and livestock production, such as yellow lemon or avocado plantations. The operation carried out in the Tierra Caliente region represents a hard blow to the region's criminal structure amidst the pressures that the White House exerts on the national government. According to the authorities, 'El Botox' was a priority target for the Secretariat of Public Security for considering him the leader of the criminal group Los Blancos de Troya, linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). During recent years, César Alejandro 'N' established a criminal structure in Michoacán, where he dedicated himself to extorting yellow lime producers in the municipalities of Buenavista and Apatzingán. Alarm in Rocha's circle: they suspect the Palace is preparing his handover to the United States. As a result, he is accused of having ordered the murder of the leader of the lime growers of Apatzingán, Bernardo Bravo, who was shot dead last October 20. Furthermore, this happened just days after Mexico extradited 37 criminals to the United States, where they will serve their sentences in different cities. 'We had been looking for him for a long time,' acknowledged Omar García Harfuch this Thursday, who detailed that his department had an 'investigation cell' in coordination with local authorities and other federal dependencies to locate the leader of Los Blancos de Troya.
