The Attorney General's Office of the State of Michoacán reported the arrest, in the state of Morelos, of the alleged murderer of a family reported as missing in Morelia. The operation was carried out in coordination with Morelos authorities and with the support of the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC). According to official information, disseminated on social networks, last Friday, January 23, the Michoacán Prosecutor's Office announced the discovery of the bodies of three members of a family that had been reported missing. The Prosecutor's Office specified that on Saturday, January 17, 2026, an investigation file was opened after the report of the disappearance of the three people. However, the search disseminated by the institution itself indicated that the disappearance would have occurred since January 15 and warned that "their integrity is feared as they may be victims of some crime." According to the available data, the bodies were found burned in the municipality of Ucareo and their identification was confirmed on Thursday, January 22. In its message disseminated on Saturday, the Michoacán Prosecutor's Office stated: "We have arrested in Morelos the alleged murderer of a family reported as missing in Morelia," as part of inter-institutional coordination actions. The victims were identified as Víctor Manuel Mujica Vega, 37 years old; Anayeli Hernández León, 36 years old; and the minor Megan Eileen M. H., 12 years old. It was also reported that Víctor Manuel Mujica Vega worked as an interpreter of Mexican Sign Language.
