Fiscal's Downfall in Morelos Amid Political Turmoil

The United States Attorney's Office has announced its determination to completely eradicate the cartels from the face of the Earth, stating that they will pursue drug traffickers for crimes equivalent to terrorism. Pam Bondi, a member of the Attorney's Office, declared that if they attack military personnel, the narcos will face a severe response from Trump, according to Tom Homan's words.

The news coincides with the dismissal of Uriel Carmona, Attorney General of Morelos, and the consequent request for impeachment of the governor of that entity, Cuauhtémoc Blanco, accused of rape. In this reform, a more rigorous persecution of criminals by the justice system is contemplated, adjusting measures towards a total eradication of cartels and transnational criminal organizations.

On the other hand, in an unexpected measure, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, has ordered the elimination of the cartels as part of a new security policy that seeks to confront the insecurity generated by drug traffickers more forcefully. This announcement has come alongside the approval of a law against fentanyl by congress members.

Meanwhile, in the economic sphere, the Bank of Mexico has reduced its interest rate by 50 basis points, with plans to make another cut in March. This is an adjustment not seen as drastic in the last four years and is expected to contribute to the stabilization of the Mexican economy amidst an uncertain and challenging global landscape.

In the same vein, the Board of Governors of the Central Bank has decided by majority to cut its interest rate by half a percentage point, given the need to stimulate the economy and strengthen it to face current challenges. This determination, which has the backing of Board members, promises to be an important step in the right direction to ensure the financial stability of the country.
