Rubén Oseguera González, known as 'El Menchito', was arrested by Mexican authorities in 2015 and subsequently extradited to the United States five years later. In a federal court in Washington, he was found guilty of drug-related offenses and illegal use of firearms.
On the other hand, Jessica Johanna Oseguera González, alias 'La Negra', was also detained in the United States in 2020 on suspicion of participating in money laundering for her father's organization. In this context, Tania Gómez Ibarra, Judge of the Seventh District in the State of Morelos, rejected granting a definitive suspension and ordering the release of Rosalinda González Valencia, wife of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, 'El Mencho', leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
Laisha Michelle Oseguera González, whose husband Cristian Gutiérrez Ochoa, alias 'El Guacho', has been detained in the United States since November 2024, served a sentence of two and a half years in prison and was released in March 2022.
Regarding Rosalinda González Valencia, after being sentenced to five years in prison for operations with resources of illicit origin, she was arrested in May 2018 and released on bail, although she was later re-arrested in November 2021 for violating precautionary measures. She is linked to the 'Los Cunis' family, a criminal group associated with the CJNG and specialized in money laundering and illegal financial activities.
Meanwhile, U.S. authorities continue to keep an eye on other members of 'El Mencho's' family, and Rosalinda González Valencia's lawyers have alleged her illegal detention in the women's prison Cefereso 16 in Morelos. Although she was granted early release in January 2022, Judge Tania Gómez Ibarra noted that this decision still needs to be ratified by a Collegiate Court.
