In a coordinated operation between federal and state forces, a presumed generator of violence identified as Martín “N”, alias “El Tomate”, was detained in Nogales, Sonora. Doses of drugs were found on him, and he had an arrest warrant for organized crime. The detention was the result of intelligence and investigation work in the region. When he was stopped, “doses of drugs were found on him, for which reason Martín ‘N’ was detained,” the authorities detailed in a press release. According to official information, the detainee, 32-year-old Martín “N”, was considered a “third-level generator of violence” for the criminal cell ‘Los Gigios’. After a cross-reference of information, it was confirmed that “the detainee has an arrest warrant for organized crime, for crimes against health.” The operation was led by personnel from the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) and the Ministerial Agency of Criminal Investigation (AMIC) of the State Justice Prosecutor's Office, in coordination with the Secretariat of National Defense, the Attorney General's Office, the National Guard, and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection. During reconnaissance tours in the municipality of Nogales, the personnel located the priority target.
