The private initiative, in collaboration with the government of the state of Puebla, has launched the Pact in Favor of Employment, an agreement aimed at improving working and salary conditions in the entity.
In an interview with Publimetro, the president of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), Héctor Sánchez Morales, detailed that the basis of the pact is the commitment from employers to allow the free association of workers to their unions. Additionally, it focuses on improving salary conditions, vacations, and employee benefits.
Sánchez Morales also mentioned that one of the key objectives of this pact is to improve labor training while working on preventing child labor. It also seeks to promote gender equity in the workplace, open opportunities for people with disabilities, and eradicate discrimination against the LGBT+ population.
"There are specific tasks for everyone, such as complying with NOM 35, decent work, and the programs of the Ministry of Labor, which include a structured certification for companies to meet the standards of decent work," highlighted the president of the CCE.
As part of the strategy, periodic working groups will be carried out. The next meeting, which will involve Governor Alejandro Armenta and representatives of the unions, will take place in March. The aim of these meetings is to define formal working strategies and promote the formalization of the productive sector, which guarantees better conditions in health, benefits, and Infonavit for workers.
Furthermore, the pact aims to encourage business projects to transition to the formal sector, allowing workers to access the corresponding benefits and contribute taxes that benefit the health and education infrastructure in Puebla.
"It is important to work with what we already have to ensure that labor rights and social protection become a reality,” emphasized Héctor Sánchez Morales.
Governor Alejandro Armenta highlighted that through coordinated work with the Secretary of the Interior, Samuel Aguilar Pala, a respectful and supportive relationship with the unions is being established, always focused on the well-being of workers.
He also emphasized that companies have a commitment to inclusivity and social development, and that the state government actively promotes respect for social rights. The governor also stressed the importance of strengthening production chains and the endogenous model in Puebla, seeking to generate wealth within the state.
"We are working to ensure that government resources generate local development, for example, by buying products in Puebla instead of other entities such as León, Guanajuato,” he concluded.
