Three of the occupants died at the scene, while the fourth died later while receiving medical attention. The investigation points to a possible mechanical failure. Although the causes of the accident have not yet been officially determined, the initial lines of investigation point to a possible mechanical failure. According to preliminary reports, the crew would have attempted to maneuver the aircraft unsuccessfully before the impact. During the Sunday mass celebrated at the Puebla Cathedral, Auxiliary Bishop Javier Martínez Castillo prayed for the four people who lost their lives following the crash of a small plane in Huejotzingo. In his message, he remembered the victims: Paulo Antonio Vélez Velásquez, Marcos Omar Martínez Tavera, Ramsés Olín Zaragoza Burgos, and Emilio Gil Ramírez, who were traveling aboard the XB-RRN aircraft, a Cessna 172 model, and were linked to the aviation sector. The bishop prayed for their eternal rest and expressed solidarity with their families, while inviting the faithful to join in prayer in their memory. According to official information, the bodies have already been handed over to their families and transferred to their places of origin, in Veracruz and Mexico City. Accident left four dead. The authorities confirmed that the final toll of the accident was four people dead, after the small plane crashed on April 2nd on farmland in the auxiliary board of Santa Ana Xalmimilulco. The aircraft had taken off from Hermanos Serdán International Airport heading to Poza Rica, Veracruz; however, minutes later it lost altitude and plunged to the ground. The disaster occurred around noon and generated an intense mobilization of emergency services from the three levels of government. Witnesses captured on video the moment the small plane was flying at low altitude before falling into a dive, which reinforces the hypothesis of a loss of control during flight.
