The Government of the State of Puebla has decided to suspend classes in various regions on Wednesday, January 22, due to low temperatures caused by Cold Front 24. The State Coordination of Civil Protection issued a statement on Tuesday night identifying the most affected areas, while the Ministry of Public Education confirmed the measure as a preventive action to safeguard the safety of the student community.
According to the state agency, the mass of cold air associated with the front caused temperatures of up to -1°C in municipalities such as Zacapoaxtla and Nauzontla. Additionally, frosts were reported in places like Teteles de Ávila Castillo, Tlatlauquitepec, Zaragoza, Yaonáhuac, and Atempan. Given these conditions, it was decided to suspend school activities in five regions of the entity, including municipalities adjacent to the capital Puebla and Atlixco.
The regions affected by the suspension of classes are Sierra Norte, Sierra Nororiental, Sierra Negra, Valle de Serdán, Angelópolis Region (Puebla Capital, San Andrés Cholula, San Pedro Cholula, Cuautlancingo, and Amozoc de Mota), and Atlixco and Matamoros Region (Santa Rita Tlahuapan, San Salvador El Verde, San Martín Texmelucan, San Matías Tlalancaleca, Huejotzingo, Juan C.
