The Attorney General's Office of the State of Puebla has reported that Marilyn Cote has been linked to a legal process for the crime of threats, adding to her link for usurpation of functions in 2024. Her case has gained notoriety on social media for posing as a psychiatrist without the necessary training or accreditation to practice that profession.

According to the investigation file, on November 18, 2023, Cote threatened a neighbor by pointing a firearm at his head after complaining about noise. She repeated this action with another person in the Bugambilias Residential Complex in Puebla, which led to her denunciation.

The evidence collected by the Attorney General's Office was decisive in establishing her probable responsibility in the crime of threats, resulting in her being charged with preventive imprisonment.

The initial complaint on social media indicates that Marilyn Cote pretends to be a doctor in Neurosciences and an expert in Neuropsychology, treating patients and prescribing controlled medications without the proper authorization. Despite holding a degree in Law and a Master's in Criminalistics, she lacks the necessary training to perform the functions of a psychiatrist.

She is accused of falsifying worldwide recognitions and claiming participation in the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI in Quantico, Virginia. Furthermore, she boasted about being able to treat depression and anxiety in a week, claims that lack professional support.

Marilyn Cote's case gained popularity on social media, prompting authorities to investigate, arrest, and ultimately prosecute the alleged psychiatry specialist.
