The head of the Secretariat for Substantive Gender Equality, Zaira González Gómez, communicated that the City Council of Puebla has received a total of 20 complaints of workplace harassment from various agencies. Since the beginning of the current administration on October 15, these complaints have been filed, all of which are being investigated.
"We have a specialized agency for sexual and labor harassment through which the cases have been received," explained the head. There is a committee responsible for analyzing the complaints that recently held an extraordinary session to review the cases and determine the actions to be taken.
Some complaints are anonymous, making it difficult to identify perpetrators and victims. However, efforts are being made in collaboration with the Comptroller's Office and the Ombudsman's Office to address these cases, the results of which will be announced soon. Actions will be reported that will be implemented to create a suitable work environment in the municipal government.
Since the beginning of the municipal management, 810 women have received assistance for violence, between October 15, 2024, and March 3, 2025. The women assisted by the Secretariat of Substantive Equality receive psychological attention and legal advice.
