Delfina Pozos Proposes Sanctions Against Water Company

PRI deputy Delfina Pozos Vergara has announced that she will promote sanctions against the concessionaire company Agua de Puebla due to the poor quality of the drinking water supply. This situation has exposed the population to health risks from alleged contamination of the liquid.

In a press conference, the deputy detailed that she has received multiple complaints from citizens affected by the consumption of contaminated water. The problem has caused skin diseases, such as dermatitis, and stomach issues in the inhabitants of Puebla capital. She also revealed that this situation has also affected pets, even leading to their deaths.

Pozos Vergara informed that in the upcoming appearance of representatives of Agua de Puebla before the State Congress, she will request a detailed report on the quality of the water distributed in the city. The goal is to highlight the reported cases of contamination by citizens.

"It is necessary to impose sanctions to ensure compliance with their responsibilities. If there is will from the authorities, it is possible to revoke the contract or impose penalties so that the company fulfills its commitments," the deputy stated.

The appearance is scheduled for November 13 at 11:00 AM and will include the participation of the director of Agua de Puebla, Héctor Octavio Durán Díaz, and Gustavo Gaytán Alcaraz, head of the Drinking Water Services Operating System (Soapap). They will appear before the deputies of the local Congress's Finance and Heritage Commission.

During the appearance, legislators will have the opportunity to question the representatives of the concessionaire directly about the quality of the service and the measures taken to ensure the safety of the supply.
