The Secretary of Security of Puebla, Vice Admiral Francisco Sánchez González, reported that a high level of information exchange is maintained with the National Intelligence Center (CNI), the Naval Intelligence Unit, and the Attorney General's Office (FGR) to combat drug trafficking in the region. Under the instruction of the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, security operations are being developed jointly and in a planned manner, using advanced technology and intelligence methods to identify and dismantle criminal networks.
In a recent operation in Puebla and Tlaxcala, the detention of 14 people linked to the Sinaloa Cartel was achieved, as well as the seizure of weapons, drugs, and two laboratories in the neighboring state. Vice Admiral Sánchez González acknowledged signs of the operation of drug laboratories in Puebla, especially in municipalities close to Guerrero, which has generated significant coordination among the three levels of government.
Sánchez González explained that although the presence of drug laboratories in Puebla is not common, signs of their operation have been identified due to the proximity to states like Guerrero. Despite being a recent phenomenon in the region, personnel from the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) have the necessary training to address this issue and are actively participating in operations.
He emphasized the importance of coordination with federal authorities and indicated that it is crucial to use technology and intelligence to show operational results and effectively execute planning to combat organized crime. Authorities at all three levels of government are working together to ensure the safety of the population and eradicate illicit operations in the region.
