The head of Public Security of the state, Francisco Sánchez González, announced that a review of establishments in Angelópolis Island with private security will be carried out, following the beating suffered by customers at a bar. The lack of intervention by the municipal police of Puebla during the incident at Mallet bar, where a father and his son were attacked by private guards, was acknowledged.
In a press conference, Sánchez González mentioned: "We concluded the security table, it was one of the main topics, to inform you that we will coordinate with the municipality, this attention was from the municipality, we are going to support them, I want to inform you that the municipality has already taken actions, they suspended the two municipal police officers who responded to the event."
The Municipal Citizen Security Secretariat of Puebla (SSC) proceeded to suspend the police officers who were present at the site and did not act, starting an internal investigation to sanction those who showed negligence in response to the aggression. There is close coordination with the Puebla City Council to address the security issues in the city, and a review of the nightclubs in the area is planned.
The state governor, Alejandro Armenta Mier, explained that the operation in the bars was carried out at the request of Coparmex and the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), who expressed the concerns of the parents. In total, there are 252 registered bars and nightclubs in the city, so joint measures will be implemented to regulate their operations and security.
The events occurred around 12:45 on Sunday, February 3, when the victims returned to the bar to demand the return of a cell phone allegedly stolen at the site, being assaulted by the establishment's employees.
