The president of the Business Unit of Private Security and Related A.C. (Uespac), Luis Miguel Mendoza Reyes, pointed out in a press conference in Puebla that the personnel in charge of security in nightclubs and bars, known as bouncers, do not belong to any private security institution, making their work illegal.
Mendoza Reyes emphasized that these establishments continue to trust their internal staff to perform security functions without the appropriate regulation or training, also lacking uniforms and corresponding credentials. The lack of hiring personnel from private security companies is attributed to the high costs involved in training, certification, medical examinations, and toxicology tests for employees.
The business leader called on the state government and the State Congress to reconsider the costs of the control and trust examinations for private security personnel. Currently, the cost of these examinations can reach up to six thousand five hundred pesos per individual, one of the highest rates in the country.
