Puebla Joins National Action Against Disappearances

The government of Puebla, following the example of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, announced that it will join the actions to address the crisis of disappearances affecting the country. Francisco Sánchez González, head of the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), communicated that various measures will be implemented, such as information sharing, police training, and the use of drones to support search efforts.

In this regard, close collaboration will be established between local and federal authorities in order to share information and resources to ensure a coordinated and effective response. Training is expected to be provided to security agents on search and rescue protocols, as well as on how to deal with the families of the missing persons.

Additionally, security forces will be equipped with advanced technology, such as drones, geolocation systems, and databases, to improve search tasks. The Puebla government will actively participate in search and rescue operations, deploying personnel and equipment in identified priority areas.

Specialized units will be created to offer psychological support and comprehensive care to the families of victims of disappearance. They also committed to providing constant information about the progress and results of the actions undertaken.

These measures are part of a national strategy following the revelation of an alleged extermination camp of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in Teuchitlán, Jalisco, where human remains and hundreds of empty shoes were found.
