This Saturday, in the early morning hours, an attack on the occupants of a luxury vehicle in front of a bar in the exclusive Angelópolis area of the city of Puebla left three dead—one woman and two men—and five injured by gunfire. In a swift response, authorities arrested four alleged hitmen, including a minor. According to a statement from the Puebla Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), thanks to the rapid mobilization of authorities, four probable suspects were apprehended, and two motorcycles were seized at various locations, which may be related to the incident. The SSP explained that after the attack on several people in the vehicle, authorities utilized a Puebla government helicopter and drones to track the events, while simultaneously increasing the deployment of agents from the State and Municipal Police on the ground. The report stated that the toll was three dead—two men and one woman—and four people injured by gunshot wounds, who are receiving appropriate medical care. At a press conference, the head of the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), Francisco Sánchez González, stated that according to investigations, the attack was planned and not a random brawl or a mistaken hit. He revealed that the attackers rented an apartment near the location of the attack to monitor their victims and rehearse their movements. «We have to see why the attack happened, because it was planned, it was conceived. These people rented an apartment very close to the place, they were practicing or acting in a very detailed manner,» Sánchez González revealed after initial investigations. Meanwhile, the Puebla State Attorney General's Office (FGE) announced it had opened an investigation into the homicide of three people and five injured resulting from the aforementioned armed assault. The FGE clarified that the five people injured by gunshot were taken to hospitals for medical care as they suffered collateral wounds, as the attack was directed at the occupants of the luxury vehicle. The Government of Puebla stated that it will act firmly and in collaboration with the State Attorney General's Office to clarify the facts and bring those responsible for the attack to justice.
