The municipality of Puebla has filed six complaints with the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) against individuals who attacked or attempted to strike Mobility supervisors, as well as against those who charged irregularly for the use of spaces in metered parking zones. This was reported by the Undersecretary of Mobility, Norman Campos, who detailed that two of the cases correspond to attempted attacks against supervisors of the program. The official explained that one of the most recent incidents occurred on Juárez Avenue, where a person demanding payment for parking reacted aggressively, and was therefore placed at the disposal of the authorities. Campos specified that in at least two cases, the victims were women, so the complaints also include a component of gender-based violence. "There is a very particular issue regarding attacks on our supervisors, as in one case a complaint for gender-based violence was filed due to aggressive behavior against them," he stated. Likewise, he indicated that other complaints were filed against mechanics who used public roads to repair vehicles, occupying spaces designated for the metered parking program, which posed a risk to municipal personnel. The undersecretary added that to reduce these types of incidents, the Government Secretariat (SGG) has carried out operations in areas where 'franeleros' (informal parking attendants) reserve parking spaces, in order to remove them and allow supervisors to focus on monitoring compliance with the program.
