Puebla solidifies itself as a national sports venue by hosting the CONADE National Olympics 2026. Over 11,400 young athletes will participate in at least 16 disciplines, and the formation of new talents will be promoted with the creation of archery schools. This was announced by the state Secretary of Sport, Gabriela Sánchez Saavedra, who indicated that the event will involve a significant mobilization of athletes, coaches, judges, and technical staff. She detailed that the competition will be held in 25 sports venues, with the support of 30 hotels and three dining facilities, in coordination with state departments such as Health, Security, Mobility, Culture, Tourism, Governance, Economy, and Communication, to ensure optimal conditions for participants. The official highlighted that Puebla has the organizational capacity to carry out this event and assured that they will seek to leave a positive experience for both athletes and visitors. In this context, she invited the public to attend the flagging ceremony of the Poblana Delegation, scheduled for this Tuesday at 4:00 PM. Talent nursery in archery is being promoted. Following the success of the Archery World Cup recently held in the Puebla capital, the Undersecretary of Sport, Mauricio García Castillo, confirmed the creation of three specialized schools in this discipline. The schools will be located in Flor del Bosque, the Ecological Park, and the University of Sport, with the aim of encouraging practice from an early age. The official explained that, in coordination with the University of Sport and the Puebla Archery Association, call-outs will be launched aimed at girls and boys interested in taking up this sport, with a view to detecting and forming future representatives of Puebla in national and international competitions. With these actions, the State seeks not only to stand out as a host of large-scale sporting events but also to consolidate a comprehensive strategy for the development of new talents.
