Tensions Rise in Morena Party Over Alleged Betrayals

At a recent press conference, serious differences within a political movement in Mexico were revealed. An independent deputy claimed to have been accused of being a traitor and pro-government by certain members of the group since 2015.

The lawmaker defended his position by explaining that his vote aligned with the movement's values, although he did not physically show the ballot in question. In contrast, the state leadership of Morena announced that it would start a disciplinary process against Sinuhe Piedragil Ortiz, due to suspicions that his vote favored a PAN proposal in the local congress.

In this scenario, the leadership of Morena emphasized the importance of transparency in political decisions, pointing out that the omission of showing the vote generated distrust. The party's general secretary stressed the need for coherence and loyalty to the movement, warning about possible expulsions of those who do not support the group's principles.

Amid these tensions, the loss of trust in some political representatives was lamented, and the alliance of local legislators with the National Action Party was questioned. On the other hand, the movement's rejection of future alliances with certain parties was highlighted, focusing on maintaining internal cohesion and loyalty to the Fourth Transformation.

In their defense, the deputies involved in this controversy reiterated their support for the cause of Morena and dismissed accusations of betrayal. Despite mutual accusations and internal tensions, the party committed to maintaining transparency and coherence in its political decisions, reaffirming its commitment to its fundamental principles.
