
The Public Security Secretariat of the municipality of Querétaro has announced the police operation that will take place during the Day of the Dead festivities in the 7 delegations and in the 8 cemeteries of the capital. According to the agency, security personnel will be deployed in the cemeteries from October 31 to November 2. It was also reported that there will be police presence at the venues of the delegations where cultural events will be held. The Municipal Coordination of Civil Protection, the Mobility Secretariat, and the Social Prevention Directorate will participate in the operation to ensure a tranquil environment during the celebrations. In a statement, the Secretariat stated: 'The operation will begin at 7:00 AM on Thursday, October 31, and will remain active until the closing of each of the cemeteries, scheduled for 7:00 PM over the three days. All necessary personnel will be assigned to ensure the appropriate conditions that our traditions require.' This year, for the first time, municipal cemeteries will remain open for three days, expecting an influx of more than 180,000 people, according to the Public Services Secretariat.
