A man, nephew of Joaquín and Jorge Mario Montenegro Gutiérrez, members of the PRI in Colón, was one of the 10 fatalities of a tragic incident. Abigail Arredondo, president of the PRI in Querétaro, initially commented on the death in a post that she later deleted. The bodies of the deceased were handed over to their families after the corresponding autopsies. Meanwhile, the 13 injured remain hospitalized, with two people in serious condition now out of danger.

The State Attorney General confirmed that one of the deceased allegedly had links to a criminal group. The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, reported that both the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection and the Army are collaborating in the investigation in Querétaro. It has been revealed that the motive for the crime appears to have been an attack against one of the attendees.

On the other hand, it was reported that two vehicles have been secured during the forensic work; one of them was allegedly used by the hitmen in the attack before being set on fire in El Marqués. Additionally, it was mentioned that one of the fatal victims could have been the target of the attack. Furthermore, the investigation regarding possible links of the affected individuals with the criminal group will continue.
