Querétaro's Struggles Continue in Liga MX

The El Querétaro team only salvaged a draw in their last match against Mazatlán, but suffered defeats against Toluca (1-0) and León (4-0). Currently, the Gallos Blancos occupy the last position in the overall standings with a record of two wins, three draws, and nine losses, totaling nine points. The team is now preparing to face Juárez in search of three points in the final stretch of the Apertura 2024 of Liga MX.

In contrast, two teams, Cruz Azul and Toluca, have stood out in the championship and are at the top of the table. Both teams had a perfect week in the penultimate double round, accumulating nine points out of nine possible. Cruz Azul defeated Puebla (2-1) and remains the leader in the overall standings.

On the other hand, Toluca is in the second position in the table with 31 points, having won nine games, drawn four, and lost only one. The team had an impeccable week by defeating Querétaro, Necaxa, and Querétaro again, showcasing an offensive and attractive style of play under the direction of Portuguese coach Renato Paiva.

In contrast, FC Juárez has had a disappointing performance in recent matches, suffering three consecutive defeats. The team's defense has shown weakness, leading to negative results against León, Cruz Azul, and Atlético de San Luis. Following these results, the board decided to dismiss coach Mauricio Barbieri.

On the other side of the coin, Cruz Azul is close to matching or surpassing records for wins and points in a single season, accumulating 37 points so far. The team, led by Martín Anselmi, has had an outstanding performance with six consecutive wins and aims to finish the regular phase as the best team in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Toluca has also had a notable performance, achieving important victories and remaining at the top of the table. Both teams, Cruz Azul and Toluca, find themselves in a privileged position as they approach the final stretch of the tournament, while others like El Querétaro and FC Juárez are fighting to improve their performance in the remaining matches.
