Querétaro Aims for 55 Investment Projects by 2025

Querétaro aims to finalize 55 investment projects for the year 2025, revealed Marco del Prete Tercero, Secretary of Sustainable Development. So far, progress has been made on 4 of these projects, with an investment of 2 billion pesos and the creation of up to 800 new jobs. The total portfolio of projects represents an investment of 80 billion pesos and around 17,000 jobs, and the goal is to finalize all of them.

"We have 55 investment projects and we have completed 4; the 55 represent an investment of 80 billion pesos. They are in the process of being finalized, and we are competing for them to stay in Querétaro," Marco del Prete Tercero detailed. The investment comes from the United States, Canada, European countries, and even from other entities in the country. Although the sectors were not specified, these projects are expected to be established in the municipalities of Querétaro, El Marqués, San Juan del Río, and Colón, which are the most industrially active.

Regarding other issues, it was highlighted that the agency will be monitoring the improvement project of the Wameru Zoo, currently an environmental management unit. It is expected that this place will receive more animals, increasing its number of animals, which is currently around 300 from 5 species. This zoo is a point of environmental education that promotes the importance of wildlife and helps the state foster the care of biodiversity, a key element of the state environmental agenda.

After participating in tours of the zoo, along with Profepa, it was observed that "the animals were cared for, sheltered, fed, and what was lacking were adequate facilities for visitors," according to the federal authority.
