Cultural Initiatives Launched in Querétaro for 2025

The Secretary of Culture of the State of Querétaro presented its work program for this year, aiming to connect local talent with audiences both inside and outside the state. The importance of decentralizing cultural projects was highlighted to take the artistic and cultural legacy of the people of Querétaro to all corners of the state, in collaboration with the 18 municipal presidents and their teams.

One of the key spaces to be highlighted in 2025 is the Innovation and Linking Center for Art (CIVARTE), which will serve as a meeting point for the development of artistic projects and the creation of a community among artists. The Secretary of Culture mentioned that communication is a main challenge in the relationship between the secretary's office and the artistic community, which is why the "Wednesdays Here with You" program has been implemented to listen to artists and respond to their needs.

The program for this year includes more than nine hundred activities, 930 artistic and cultural activities, 128 exhibitions, and an international congress. It was noted that 2025 is a key year for the culture of Querétaro, built hand in hand with artistic and cultural communities for a solid, inclusive, and sustainable cultural future that strengthens the identity of the towns and promotes social and economic development through culture.

Among the fundamental strategies of the plan are the promotion of culture and art in the 18 municipalities, the creation of a national reference in creative industries, and the strengthening of a culture of peace through artistic and cultural expressions. Projects such as calls for artists, a state registry of artists, continuous training programs, and transparent space loan schemes were highlighted.

The effort focuses on ensuring equal opportunities, supporting projects that boost the creative economy, and promoting sustainable cultural ecosystems that allow artists to grow and project their work. It is planned to generate collaboration networks, diffusion strategies, promotion, workshops, and training as requested by local artists.
